Campus Coordinator

An initiative of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), Ascend collaborates with corporate, education, philanthropic, and community partners, and is well-positioned to play a leadership role in addressing Central Indiana’s workforce challenges. 

The Ascend Campus Coordinator will work to build employment pathways to companies in Indiana for students. The Campus Coordinator’s role is focused on building awareness and brand recognition of Ascend on campus. The Campus Coordinator will be charged with ensuring that students understand the employment opportunities that exist in Indiana and how Ascend’s work on campus provides value. 

The Campus Coordinator, in consultation with Ascend’s recruitment staff, will work to execute a detailed strategic plan aimed at inspiring students to pursue internships and jobs in Indiana. The Campus Coordinator’s schedule will be determined by Ascend with respect to the needs of specific outreach campaigns.

Campus Coordinators will enhance their professional skills in networking, marketing strategies, and communication while gaining an understanding of how a nonprofit organization, Ascend Indiana, operates.

  • IUPUI
  • Ivy Tech Downtown 
  • Ivy Tech Lawrence

Job Responsibilities

Execute a detailed strategic plan

  • Manage and execute the approved on-campus engagement and recruitment strategy. Activities will include sharing marketing and social media campaigns to ensure the value of Ascend is well understood by students (i.e. - hanging posters and flyers, tabling in high-traffic areas, speaking in classrooms, and executing effective email campaigns).

Engage with students

  • Plan and execute highly-attended recruitment events
  • Network with various student organizations to secure Ascend presentations in classes and meetings
  • Conduct announcements throughout the year in a variety of on-campus settings

Be an Ascend brand ambassador 

  • Promote the Ascend brand via personal social networks and social media.
  • Wear Ascend branded attire when attending Ascend related events
  • Embody Ascend’s core values through interactions with students, faculty and staff. 

Provide additional support as needed

  • Support Ascend staff as needed by drafting research memos, conducting candidate sourcing, other projects as assigned.
  • Report outcomes during weekly Progress Reviews with Manager of Strategy & Operations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Applicants should be undergraduate students that are currently sophomores or juniors
  • A detail-oriented self-starter who can think critically and manage to milestones to execute effectively
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Eagerness to work behind the scenes to support ambitious goals
  • Record of achievement in academics, leadership, and/or employment
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite preferred
  • Demonstrate ethical handling of confidential information
