An initiative of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), Ascend Indiana collaborates with corporate, education, philanthropic, and community partners, and is well-positioned to play a leadership role in addressing Central Indiana’s workforce challenges.

The Manager of Talent Identification will support the process for identifying and connecting talent to regional internship and career opportunities. The primary responsibilities of the Manager of Talent Identification will be to develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to meet with a high volume of students, understand their motivations and interests, and, ultimately, connect them to career pathways in Indiana. This direct impact with talent is a critical piece of Ascend’s strategy. Finally, this individual will support the Vice President of Talent Identification on high priority initiatives as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies

  • Develop and manage relationships with talent providers (i.e. Purdue University, Indiana University, Franklin College, etc.) alongside the Vice President of Talent Identification
  • Work with each assigned talent provider to develop a detailed and actionable campus-wide strategy to identify and engage qualified candidates
  • Hire, train, and manage Ascend Campus Coordinators to develop and execute recruitment strategies
  • Plan and execute creative on-campus engagement events that inspire candidates to connect with the Ascend team

Utilize the Ascend Network technology to help candidates connect with internship and job opportunities

  • Conduct meaningful 1:1 conversations with candidates to educate them on Ascend and the Central Indiana labor market
  • Manage relationships with talent to ensure they utilize the Ascend Network in their internship/job search
  • Drive toward talent identification goals and track progress within the Ascend Network
  • Produce outcomes reports for talent provider partners on a regular basis

Conduct research on the national, state, and local workforce landscape

  • Effectively track data collected on campus for use in annual supply/demand reporting
  • Continue to review and seek out research reports highlighting industry trends
  • Prepare briefs to share internally and externally as requested

Build successful project management practices

  • Develop weekly, quarterly, and yearly plans to achieve organizational objectives
  • Manage and report against goals, priorities and objectives to the Vice President of Talent Identification
  • Provide additional support to the Vice President of Talent Identification and CEO as needed

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3.5 cumulative GPA from undergraduate institution with relevant work experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills and a strong desire to work with people
  • Demonstrated track record of success in leading projects and achieving ambitious, quantifiable outcomes
  • A detail-oriented self-starter who can be given a need or objective, break it down into executable activities, identify questions that need to be asked, gather priorities and requirements, set and manage to milestones and then execute effectively
  • Ability to learn new technology tools and processes quickly, proficiency in Microsoft Suite preferred
  • Track record of successfully working collaboratively within a team
  • Demonstrate ethical handling of confidential information
  • Experience in recruitment or sales preferred

  • Work week: 40 hours/week
  • Undergraduate degree and relevant experience required
  • Travel: Statewide, 80% of the job will be remote on college/university campuses
