Campus Recruitment Coordinator

The Ascend Campus Recruitment Coordinator will work to build employment pathways to companies in Indiana for college students. The Campus Recruitment Coordinator’s role is focused on building brand awareness and recruiting students to connect with Ascend on their campus. The Campus Recruitment Coordinator will be charged with ensuring that students understand the employment opportunities that exist in Indiana and how Ascend’s work on campus provides value.

The Campus Recruitment Coordinator, in consultation with Ascend’s recruitment staff, will work to execute a detailed strategic plan aimed at inspiring students to pursue internships and jobs in Indiana. The Campus Recruitment Coordinator’s schedule will be determined by Ascend with respect to the needs of specific engagement activities.

Campus Recruitment Coordinators will enhance their professional skills in networking, recruitment, marketing strategies, and communication while gaining an understanding of how a nonprofit organization, Ascend Indiana, operates.

Ascend partners with universities throughout Indiana and currently has openings at:

  • Franklin College
  • Hanover College
  • IU Bloomington
  • Ivy Tech Downtown
  • Ivy Tech Lawrence
  • University of Indianapolis
  • Wabash College

Job Responsibilities

Execute a detailed strategic plan

  • Manage and execute the approved on-campus engagement and recruitment strategy in order to increase the number of students connecting with Ascend
  • Track engagement and progress through detailed-reports and dashboards

Engage with students and key stakeholders on-campus

  • Leverage a variety of tactics in order to increase the number of students signing up with Ascend
  • Plan and execute highly-attended recruitment events such as tabling sessions, information sessions, career fairs, etc.
  • Network with and send email outreach to various student organizations, faculty, or staff in order to increase awareness and secure Ascend presentations in classes and meetings
  • Employ marketing tactics across campus, leveraging Ascend’s partnerships to receive approval where applicable (i.e. flyers, digital monitors, social media, table tents, handouts, etc.)
  • Conduct announcements throughout the year in a variety of on-campus and digital settings
  • Work one-on-one with students, as needed, to help publish their profile and suggest roles Embody Ascend’s core values through interactions with students, faculty, and staff

Provide additional support as needed

  • Support Ascend staff as needed by drafting research memos, gathering candidate information, creating email content, and other projects as assigned
  • Engage in timely communication with team members to ensure results Report outcomes during bi-weekly Progress Reviews with Manager of Strategy & Operations

Minimum Requirements

  • Applicants should be undergraduate students that are currently sophomores or juniors
  • A detail-oriented self-starter who can think critically and manage effective execution of assigned projects
  • An outgoing and assertive individual not hesitant to engage with others
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Record of achievement in academics, leadership, and/or employment
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Eagerness to work behind the scenes to support ambitious goals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite preferred
  • Demonstrate ethical handling of confidential information

  • Work week: Part-time, 5 -10 hours/ week
  • Undergraduate student Travel: Once a semester to Indianapolis for training
