Campus Recruitment Coordinator

Ascend Indiana (Ascend) is a fast-growing nonprofit on a mission to address Indiana’s workforce misalignment. Ascend’s vision is for Indiana to be a place of economic opportunity for all. An initiative of Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), Ascend collaborates with corporate, education, philanthropic, and community partners, and is well-positioned to play a leadership role in addressing Indiana’s workforce challenges.

The Campus Recruitment Coordinator, in consultation with Ascend’s recruitment team, will work to execute a detailed strategic plan aimed at inspiring students to pursue internships and jobs in Indiana. The Campus Recruitment Coordinator will be charged with ensuring that students understand the employment opportunities that exist in Indiana and how Ascend’s work on campus provides value. They will build brand awareness and recruit students to connect with Ascend and the Ascend Network on their campus. The Campus Recruitment Coordinator’s schedule will be determined by Ascend with respect to the needs of specific engagement activities.

Campus Recruitment Coordinators will enhance their professional skills in networking, recruitment, marketing strategies, and communication while gaining an understanding of how a nonprofit organization, Ascend Indiana, operates.

To be successful in this role you must be...

Able to develop and execute a detailed campus engagement and recruitment strategy alongside Ascend’s recruitment team.

  • You manage and execute an approved on-campus engagement and recruitment strategy in order to increase the number of students connecting with Ascend.
  • You track engagement and progress through detailed-reports and dashboards, reporting progress to the Manager of Campus Partnerships weekly.

Excited by the opportunity to engage and build relationships with students and key stakeholders on-campus.

  • You leverage a variety of strategies to increase the number of students signing up with Ascend.
  • You plan and execute highly-attended campus recruitment events such as tabling sessions, information sessions, career fairs, etc.
  • You network with and send email outreach to student organizations, faculty, and/or staff in order to increase awareness and secure meeting and classroom presentations.
  • You employ marketing tactics across campus, leveraging Ascend’s partnerships to receive approval where applicable (i.e. flyers, digital monitors, social media, table tents, handouts, etc.).
  • You conduct announcements throughout the year in a variety of on-campus and digital settings.

Driven to make an impact by providing additional support as needed.

  • You develop the necessary systems, processes, and tools to better support facilitation, collection, and sharing of knowledge and data generated through relevant projects.
  • You create memos and instructions to assist staff with the implementation and management of internal human assets programs and initiatives.
  • You support additional projects as assigned by the Manager of Campus Partnerships.

Requirements

  • Current sophomore, junior, or senior with a 3.3 minimum GPA from a partner undergraduate institution.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, including strong presentation skills.
  • A detail-oriented and organized self-starter who can be given a project, break it down into executable pieces, and identify questions that need to be asked.
  • Track record of successfully working collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrate ethical handling of confidential information.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to learn new technology quickly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite preferred.

  • Pay Rate: $12 / hour
  • Travel: Limited
