Ascend Indiana, the talent and workforce development initiative of the CEOs of Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), announced today a new member to its Board of Directors.
Taylor Brown, chief people officer at Heritage Construction + Materials (HC+M), a division of The Heritage Group, is filling the board seat that had been previously held by Christy Wilson.
“Ascend’s board of directors provides invaluable insight and guidance, and I am pleased that Taylor will join as our newest member,” said Brad Rhorer, president and CEO of Ascend Indiana. “Her expertise in the areas of leadership and talent strategizing is a key ingredient to delivering our mission to ensure all Hoosiers and all employers are equipped to thrive in Indiana’s evolving economy.”
In her role at HC+M, Taylor is responsible for leading the division’s people strategy and overseeing its marketing and communications, partnering with executive and HR leaders to drive talent, culture and organizational development aligned with long-term business objectives.
Taylor brings a distinctive blend of operational leadership and human capital expertise to her work. Prior to her current role, Taylor served as director of Talent at HC+M, where she built and executed the division’s shared talent strategy. Earlier in her career, she served as chief operating and program officer for Teach For America Indianapolis, leading a talent pipeline and leadership development strategy with measurable impact on educator diversity and student outcomes across Indianapolis schools.
Taylor’s commitment to community is reflected in her civic engagement and board service. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors at The Oaks Academy and has served as president of the Chi Omega Indianapolis Alumnae Chapter.
