Hub19 is helping Dubois County build a stronger workforce pipeline by connecting education, industry and community partners to create meaningful career pathways for students. Originally launched through grant funding and now sustained through employer support, Hub19 serves as a regional intermediary focused on aligning schools, employers and workforce systems around shared workforce goals.
Through partnerships with local school districts, the Patoka Valley Career Cooperative, Vincennes University Jasper and regional employers, Hub19 coordinates career-connected learning experiences that help students explore local careers and build real-world skills. During the 2025–2026 school year, the organization connected hundreds of students to work-based learning opportunities while supporting career awareness and pathway exploration across grade levels.
Hub19 also plays a key convening role across Dubois County, bringing together educators, employers, counselors and community leaders to strengthen alignment and expand opportunities for students. Key initiatives include leading the county career counselor network, developing a countywide work-based learning manual to support consistent student experiences and employer engagement and supporting hands-on learning projects such as the Tiny Home initiative, which brought together students from multiple career pathways to collaborate on a real-world construction and design project.
In addition, Hub19 helps lead countywide career exploration events such as Career Cruise, where local employers engage directly with students to showcase career opportunities available in the region. Looking ahead, Hub19 will continue to expand career-connected learning opportunities, embed employability skills across schools and raise awareness of high-demand career pathways that support the long-term vitality of Dubois County’s workforce.
