Joyce Irwin Named Vice Chair of the Ascend Indiana Board of Directors

Ascend Indiana, the talent and workforce development initiative of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), announced today that long-time healthcare executive Joyce Irwin has been named vice chair of the Ascend Indiana Board of Directors.

Irwin is president and CEO of Community Health Network Foundation and has served as a member of the Ascend Board of Directors since 2016. Irwin joins Ascend Board Chair, Bridget Boyle, global practice lead – executive recruiting and pipelining at Roche Diagnostics, in leading the 32-member board.

“We are excited for Joyce to serve as our vice chair and continue to contribute her expertise to our Board of Directors and our organization. Her deep understanding and experience with healthcare are invaluable as we work to fulfill our mission to ensure all Hoosiers and all employers are equipped to thrive in Indiana’s evolving economy,” said Brad Rhorer, president and CEO of Ascend Indiana.

Irwin became Community Health Network Foundation’s president and CEO in October 2012. In this leadership role, she has led a fundraising team and board of directors charged with raising financial support that enhances patient care delivered at more than 200 Central Indiana sites of care. Prior to her appointment at Community, she worked at Roche Diagnostics Corporation for 10 years, serving as the national director of state government affairs. Before Roche, Joyce worked at Eli Lilly and Company on federal policy issues and strategic marketing related to importation and Medicare Modernization Act. Her career has also included other senior-level healthcare positions, where she worked in managed care organizations, large multi-specialty physician groups and large integrated hospital systems.
